consists of three, integrated components: the Business Starters
Workshop, Business Support & Counseling, and the Taunton Business

Business
Starters Workshop
Do you have an idea for a business? Would you like to be your own boss? Don't
miss this opportunity! The FREE Business Starters Workshop covers topics
such as financing and credit, budgeting and cash flow, marketing, personnel,
and management. By the end of the program, you will have developed your own,
unique business plan. The Workshop meets at the
Robertson on the River Conference Room at 120 Ingell Street, Taunton. Workshop
sessions are offered in the fall and spring. Participants must meet low- to
moderate-income levels as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
The
next session of the Business Starters Workshop will begin in fall 2008.
The program runs for 7 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 PM.

Support & Counseling
The
Taunton Business Start-Up and Expansion Program's Business Support
& Counseling services provide start-up and expanding businesses
with free, hands-on assistance with developing business plans and
leveraging financing. All support services are provided by an
experienced and qualified Business Consultant.
Taunton
Business Loan Fund
The
Taunton Business Loan Fund provides low-interest financing for start-up or expanding businesses
in the City of Taunton. Loans can be used for working capital,
equipment purchases, critical renovation improvements, and/or relocation costs.
Terms are generally from 1 to 5 years, with interest rates from 3 to 7%.
Qualified applicants must be creating at least one new job opportunity for a low- to moderate-income
household.
The
Taunton Business Start-Up and Expansion Program is funded by the Taunton
Office of Economic and Community Development, with additional support
from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, the Bridgewater Savings
Charitable Foundation, the Citizens Bank Foundation, the Sovereign Bank
Foundation, and Webster Bank.
